Meet the Team: Murtaza Kashif, Lead Technical Engineer

As one of our newest additions to the team, Murtaza Kashif is responsible for analyzing client’s engineering and architecture requirements and coming up with a solution. Read on to learn why he loves the retail technology space and why choosing to work at BTM was “a no brainer.”
What are your responsibilities at BTM?
As a lead technical engineer, I am responsible for analyzing clients’ requirements from engineering and architecture perspective and determining a solution approach that meets the client’s current and future business needs. I lead the technical aspect during every project phase and work closely with clients and BTM’s on-site/offshore project teams.
Prior to BTM, I was in the retail tech industry for more than 15 years and held various technology-related roles, from developer to leader.
Why did you decide to join BTM?
Having worked in various positions in retail, including as a consultant for many years, I was looking for an opportunity where I could leverage my experience and skills, and be successful in the next phase of my career. I was excited to find the job opening at BTM and so I applied for it.
During the interview process, the BTM leadership team quickly acknowledged and identified what I could bring to the table. They were very supportive of my career aspirations and went above and beyond to meet my professional and personal needs. It was a no brainer for me to choose BTM at the end of the day!!!
What excites you about your work?
Every client’s requirements provide their own unique challenge and ample opportunities to learn. The work always challenges me to apply my critical thinking in order to solve a business problem.
What do you wish others in the industry knew about BTM?
BTM mantra is always “Client First” and they don’t take the easy route to meet a client’s need! They come up with what’s best for the client, whether it’s a unique business or technical solution. In addition, BTM puts a lot of energy and sincere attention to its employees’ well-being. They genuinely pay attention to employees’ personal and professional needs, and are very accommodative.
Tell us about your life outside of work.
I am Secretary of the local chapter of a religious nonprofit organization called Dawoodi Bohras. I’m deeply involved in the organization; we manage and support many community efforts such as education, meals, outreach, etc. As Secretary, I lead and coordinate all activities related to these efforts.
I also love travelling and look for opportunities small and big to spend time with family and friends.
