Meet the Team: Matt Posey, NetSuite Practice Director

At BTM Global, we believe our work is about more than just technology. It’s about our people and our relationships with clients and colleagues. We hope this “Meet the Team” series gives you a better understanding of the personalities and passions that make up BTM Global!

We recently welcomed Matt Posey to the BTM team as our NetSuite practice director! As a NetSuite Alliance Partner, we are thrilled to have Matt’s deep NetSuite expertise on board. Read on to learn why Matt joined BTM, what he wishes everyone in the industry knew about us, and what he races on the weekends!

What are your responsibilities at BTM?

As the NetSuite practice director, I’m in charge of building a successful professional services organization to deliver best-of-breed services in the NetSuite space.

Why did you decide to join the BTM team?

BTM’s culture was a big reason I came here. Specifically, the leadership team has a lot of industry experience and they are committed to retaining talent; I think that’s really important. Secondly, the experience of the entire BTM team is very diverse but extremely deep, and it’s obvious that they’re a tightly woven team.

I’m also excited to work with an “in house” team. In my previous job, I worked with a remote team and rarely got to meet the people I worked with…I even had direct reports that I never actually met! That always bothered me. I’m really glad we’re all under one roof at BTM.

What’s the best part of your job?

It’s always evolving and the journey is endless, so I’m constantly getting to learn new things and new ways of doing things, meeting new clients and tackling new challenges. There are entire industries that I wouldn’t have ever thought about just a few years ago, and now here I am interacting with them in such a short period of time! That is fascinating and exciting.

And, like I mentioned above, another “best part” of my job is getting to work with a local team. Getting into better alignment with people is what I’ve always wanted to do, and I can do that here at BTM.

What do you wish others in the industry knew about BTM?

Our team’s technical and integration skills. We have extensive experience doing extremely complex system integration work that we are leveraging in the NetSuite space. We already have integration experience to just about anything that any NetSuite client is going to want to interface with, plus we are one of the few NetSuite partners who can do it all: ERP, SCA, POS/SCIS, customizations, etc. BTM is part of a very small, select group that has really broad experience.

I also think it’s important for organizations to know how client-focused BTM is. We don’t make generic recommendations and plans; we take the time to really listen to what the client is saying and “right size” our recommendations to fit their needs and goals.

What’s one of the biggest challenges in the industry right now and how can BTM help?

NetSuite has a lot of options and some of them appear to overlap, which can be confusing for organizations. BTM can help companies understand what they need and why it’s important. That’s something we focus a lot of our time on with clients, right up front.

Because we think it’s so important to spend time making sure the solution is the correct one for our clients, we are more involved with the presales process and solution work than most NetSuite partners.

Tell us about your life outside of work.

I’m a very avid practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to try to keep in shape, and I’m a huge car enthusiast. I enjoy working on and racing my cars most weekends! I’m also an instructor for the Tire Rack Street Survival Program, which is a hands-on program to instruct teenaged drivers on decision making, car control and overall driving skills.
